The fallacy of a single ancestry bears no relation to reality.
Each of us is a sum.
We carry the blood of both the native and the migrant;
of the European and the African, of the white and the Black,
and of all the other human colours.
We are descendants of the slave and of the master who enslaved him,
children of the pirate and of the one who was robbed,
a mixture of the one who punished to the point of death
and of the merciful one who tended his wounds.
An awareness of this anthropological adventure
may perhaps temper the revisionist fury that assails us
from the extremes, nowadays, in many parts of the world.

when our institutional, scientific, ethical and political foundations
are called into question,
and the pillars governing the relationship
between human intelligence and machines enter a new paradigm,
what place will we occupy as human beings?
What will it mean to be human?
