The way I have defined mindfulness is actively noticing.
If you give people instructions and say
"pay attention and be present".
That’s sweet! But it really falls on deaf ears
because when people are not there, they don’t know they’re not there.
And all of the research we’ve done over 40 years
says most of us, most of the time, are mindless.
